      Important organic pigments include the following varieties.

      1. Insoluble double azo pigments

      Two azo groups in the molecular structure. These pigments have excellent heat and solvent resistance and a high concentration of colour. Typical varieties are: Benzidine Yellow GP.Y.12, Permanent Yellow GRP.Y.13, Permanent Yellow GP.Y.14, Permanent Yellow HRP.Y.83, Permanent Orange Yellow GP.O.13, Permanent Orange F2 GP.O.34, etc.

      2. Insoluble single azo pigments

      They contain only one azo group in their structure and are insoluble in water. This type of pigment has excellent acid resistance, alkali resistance and water penetration resistance, general light resistance, but poor heat resistance and solvent resistance.

      Commonly used varieties are: sunlight resistant yellow G (Hansa yellow G) P.Y.1, sunlight resistant yellow 10G (Hansa yellow 10G) P.Y.3, permanent orange RNP.O.5, toluidine red P.R.3, permanent red F4RP.R.8, toluidine violet red P.R.13, etc.

      Among the pigments in this category, those with good light, heat and solvent resistance are: permanent red FRRP.R.2, permanent red FGRP.R.112, permanent peach red FBBP.R.146 and permanent red F3RKP.R.170, which are medium and high grade pigments.


      3. Colour precipitated pigments

      Water-soluble dyestuffs are used as pigments by forming a precipitate with the same colour as the dyestuff by means of a certain process. They are characterised by bright colours, good heat and solvent resistance, but poor light, weathering and water penetration resistance, and are rarely used in products with high weathering requirements.

      The main representative varieties are: barium salt pigment precipitated sunlight resistant big red BBN, yellow light big red P.R.48:1, yellow light big red P.R.243, sunlight resistant bright red BBC; calcium salt pigment precipitated blue light red P.R.48:2, sunlight resistant red BBS; strontium salt pigment precipitated big red P.R.48:3, sunlight resistant deep red BBM; manganese salt pigment precipitated P.R.48:4, golden light red C, yellow light big red P.R.53, etc.

      4. Phthalocyanine pigment

      Copper phthalocyanine is the main variety. The characteristics of phthalocyanine pigments are excellent performance of light resistance, heat resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance and migration resistance, high colouring power and low price. The two main types are phthalocyanine blue and phthalocyanine green. The main varieties of phthalocyanine blue are: phthalocyanine blue BP.B.15, phthalocyanine blue BSP.B.15:1, phthalocyanine blue BSRP.B.15:2, phthalocyanine blue BGSP.B.15:3, phthalocyanine blue GLNFP.B.15:4; phthalocyanine green GP.G.7; phthalocyanine green 3YP.G.86.

      5. Quinacridone pigments

      The pigment structure contains benzimidazolone structure, this series of yellow, orange, red and brown varieties are called benzimidazolone pigments. It is a high-grade pigment variety, with excellent migration resistance, sunlight resistance and heat resistance. The light fastness can reach 7 to 8 grades and the heat resistance is over 250°C.

      The main varieties are: quinacridone red 1171, 1170, 1102, P.R.122 (commonly known as phthalocyanine red); quinacridone violet BH101, BH201, 400, P.V.19 (commonly known as phthalocyanine violet); permanent yellow HCRP.Y.156; permanent red HRP.R.171; permanent brown HFR, etc.

      6. Heterocyclic and thick cyclic ketone pigments

      With excellent application performance, they are not only used in plastic colouring, but also in paint and ink colouring, etc. Due to their complex molecular structure, high cost and excellent comprehensive performance, they can be used as high-grade organic pigments.
